Sourcewell Awards Caterpillar Highest Score in Heavy Equipment Contract
Sourcewell has selected Caterpillar as its 2019 Legacy Award winner.
Sourcewell is a service cooperative that provides cooperative purchasing contracts for a wide variety of governmental agencies.
With its annual Legacy Award, Sourcewell recognizes a vendor that demonstrates commitment, business innovation and persistence to advance cooperative purchasing strategies and approaches to government and education business. It also recognizes the visionary leadership and instincts it takes to forge uncharted sales concepts and the overall Sourcewell way of business.
In announcing the winner of the award, Sourcewell credited Caterpillar for taking a chance more than a decade ago with a very small, young company and the cooperative purchasing industry in general. “Ultimately they were awarded their first contract in 2008; the timing was right and they seized the opportunity. They have proven a manufacturer-held contract with a dealer works and can work well. About 90% of their dealers across the U.S. have made sales through their contract.”
Sourcewell says since that first contract, Caterpillar has consistently been one of its top ten vendors.
Caterpillar’s Ann Schreifels, Patty Redpath, Lori Westhafer, David Stutzman and Olu Afolabi were on hand to accept the award at the Sourcewell Leadership Conference in Brainerd, Minnesota in early June.
