For Release in India: January 2024
Release Number: 18PR24
The Cat® 320D3 GC Excavator is built for versatile operation and fuel efficiency to deliver the lowest cost per hour operation. Design updates to the boom and stick help to increase excavator flexibility, while a new standard two-speed final drive increases travel speed to improve on-site operating efficiency. Added machine telematics capabilities now allow for remote monitoring of fuel consumption and remote machine derating.
Like the 320D3 model, the current production 320D3 GC excavator now comes standard with a 5.7-m heavy duty boom. Increasing durability and reliability compared to previous designs, its standard reinforced 2.25-m stick features thicker plates and a boom nose redesign. These upgrades remove previous operating restrictions, so the excavator is now suitable for use with hammers.
Two travel speeds – 3.8 km/h in first gear and 5.6 km/h in second – enable the updated excavator to move more quickly from one area of the jobsite to another, improving efficiency. In-cab design enhancements include a new, more comfortable operator’s seat that features a dual slider mechanism that allows for independent leg length and arm length adjustments. Its new key start design allows operators to start/stop the excavator without the need for an engine kill lever.
The reliable 320D3 GC excavator is known for delivering low fuel consumption and owning costs. Typical fuel consumption in earthmoving applications averages as low as 11 liters per hour. A new optional fuel meter offers the ability to remotely track machine fuel consumption via Cat VisionLink®. Additionally, the machine can be remotely derated to 50% operating capabilities as a theft deterrent and to increase the chances of recovering a stolen machine.
The 320D3 GC excavator features a design that simplifies routine maintenance to lower costs. Virtually all daily maintenance can be performed at ground level to increase efficiency and safety. Hydraulic oil change intervals of 6,000 operating hours with a long 3,000-hour oil filter service intervals allows the excavator to spend more time at the jobsite and less time in the shop.
